Many in Broncos Country seem married to the idea that this team needs to take an offensive tackle in the first round no matter what. I’m not in that camp, nor am I against the Broncos going tackle in round one.

If the Broncos are not satisfied with Garett Bolles, they will have to consider every option, but this year’s offensive tackle class is pretty deep, and Trey Adams could be a phenomenal value in the second round.

Not to mention, didn’t the Broncos get a tremendous starting offensive lineman in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft by the name of Dalton Risner? Risner was the 10th offensive lineman selected in the 2019 draft class, so it’s not impossible to find good players down the draft board who can help and even start immediately.

I think Trey Adams has the size and play strength to be a starting offensive tackle in the NFL immediately, and the only concerns here will be whether or not medical staffs like what they see in Adams’ recovery from a 2017 ACL injury and a 2018 disk injury.

In 2019, he’s been back and playing well, but his ceiling is even higher than he’s shown this season.
