I only have one question. What did Vic Fangio say to the Denver Broncos during the bye? Because it is working wonders against the Minnesota Vikings.
At 3-6, the Denver Broncos have not had a lot going on. Close games, heartbreaks, and a lot of things not going right. But it appears Vic Fangio said something to the Broncos during the bye. Because there is a lot of success going on for this team in Minnesota.
The key for the Denver Broncos was to get the running game going and to keep the pressure off Brandon Allen. So far, they are executing it and throwing some beautiful passes and trick plays as well.
Denver’s defense has also been playing well. Von Miller was able to sack his 50th quarterback as he was able to get to Kirk Cousins in the first half. Shelby Harris would add on to the sack party as he got to Kirk Cousins and forced a fumble. Alexander Johnson recovered it to mark the first turnover of the game.
Courtland Sutton has been balling out too. He recorded a phenomenal catch over Xavier Rhodes early on and was able to complete a big pass to Tim Patrick on a wide receiver reverse. Troy Fumagalli recorded his first NFL touchdown that gave Denver a 10-0 lead in the first quarter.
I am impressed that the Broncos defense has allowed 47 yards to a Kirk Cousins lead offense. Denver has also been helped out by self destructive plays by the Minnesota Vikings. They have turned the ball over twice, one of the turnovers on a kickoff return.
Luckily for the Vikings, Brandon Allen committed Denver’s only turnover of the game so far as he threw an interception on the very next play. But this has been a dominating game by the Broncos so far. Two turnovers, three sacks, and limiting Dalvin Cook to only nine yards rushing.
Minnesota will get the ball to start the second half. Keep the foot on the gas pedal Denver!
