Key Matchups

Vikings Pass Attack vs. Broncos’ Secondary

Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs may be the most explosive receiving tandem in the league. However, with Thielen a no-go on Sunday, it will be down to Diggs. This is where you would look at TE Kyle Rudolph to get some more targets.

Luckily, guys like Chris Harris, Justin Simmons, and Kareem Jackson match up pretty well with the Vikings’ receivers in terms of speed and physicality. Thielen being ruled out for Sunday is huge, but the Broncos’ secondary must not rest on their laurels. They have to be ready for Diggs and Rudolph to get more opportunities.

Thielen is obviously their #1 go-to guy, but Diggs and Rudolph are more than capable of putting up steady production and solid numbers on Sunday.

Phillip Lindsay vs. Vikings’ Front Seven

There is a strong chance that the Broncos offense will need to rely on Phillip Lindsay on Sunday.

Brandon Allen will need to get the ball out of his hands quickly, and his best opportunity to do that may be to dump the ball off to Phillip Lindsay and let him go to work. We know Lindsay is amazing at creating something out of nothing, but he faces a tough challenge on Sunday going up against Minnesota’s front seven.

Minnesota boasts a nasty front seven, made up of guys like Danielle Hunter, Everson Griffen, Shamar Stephen, Eric Kendricks, and Anthony Barr. Minnesota will be without Linval Joseph Sunday, which may help the Denver Broncos, but guys like Hunter and Griffen are solid against the run, and Lindsay may need opportunity created for him by the offensive line to get some gaps open on Sunday.

However, as previously stated, Lindsay is good at creating an opportunity for himself and always finding a way to get some yardage.
