Broncos Country was patiently waiting for Bryce Callahan to make it onto the football field to help the defense. Sadly, his first season in Denver ends.

One of the most underrated signings for the Denver Broncos offseason will have his season ended before he could play even one snap in a Denver Broncos uniform. As much as Bryce Callahan tried to practice and get on the field, it just would not happen.

The former Bears’ cornerback tried to practice on Tuesday for the first time since he got his foot surgically fixed six weeks prior. Sadly though, the screw in his foot got bent and he could not participate the remainder of the week.

Vic Fangio states that he will have to have another procedure on his foot, which will deem him out for the remainder of the season. It is a premature end to the season in the sense that Broncos Country did not see him once this season.

One thing that fans could keep an eye on is what the team decides to do going towards the 2020 offseason. He has made $6.5 million this year with all of the guarantees. Mike Klis reports that Callahan is guaranteed $3.5 million on the second day of the 2020 league year. Which means all of his $10 million will be gone.

I believe the Denver Broncos could give him one more chance. But if players like De’Vaunte Bausby and Devontae Harris make some noise in 2020 or if the Broncos are able to acquire a cornerback via free agency or the draft, I would be playing lights out if I am Bryce Callahan.

On a more serious note, hopefully Callahan is able to get the procedure done that he needs and is able to come back stronger. Depending on what pieces are placed for the Broncos, Callahan could be important to bringing a title back.
