Broncos at Vikings Picks and NFL Pick ‘Em

Shelby Manning

The Broncos travel to Minnesota in a return from their bye week to take on the Vikings, coming off of a hot Sunday night win against the highly touted Dallas Cowboys.

The Broncos’ offense flashed a glimmer of hope in their thrilling win over the Cleveland Browns two weeks ago, and it looked like Brandon Allen may be a potential temporary band-aid for this struggling offense. However, the young QB will face a huge test on the road this weekend in facing a nasty Vikings defense that boasts both a stellar pass rush and secondary.

If the Broncos wish to win, their best bet is to get the ball out of Allen’s hands quickly, and they may have to rely heavily on Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman for production.

The outcome of this game also depends on which Kirk Cousins is coming to the party: the good one who brings all the good snacks and wins beer pong or the Kirk Cousins who pukes on someone and passes out by 8 pm.

Although wildly inconsistent, Kirk Cousins looked brilliant against the Cowboys on SNF. Even if Cousins’ best version of himself does not show up, Dalvin Cook has the ability to run the ball down your throat.

Cousins also has huge targets in guys like Stefon Diggs and Adam Thielen.

Overall, the Vikings have a full arsenal of weapons and adding in that Minnesota is one of the loudest environments, the Broncos simply have to bring their A-game and play well in every phase.

From here on out, every game is a must-win for the Broncos for any chance to keep already slim playoff hopes alive. That being said, I feel the Broncos will struggle on Sunday.

I think the Broncos are going to shock some people on Sunday in Minneapolis against the Vikings.

Vic Fangio’s knowledge of the Vikings’ personnel and the Broncos’ knowledge of Gary Kubiak can play factors in this game if Brandon Allen, yet again, plays relatively mistake-free football, and even continues to elevate the team in a way.
