6. More from the offensive playmakers

The Broncos don’t have a full complement of offensive playmakers yet. They need someone to step up as a WR2 in this offense.

However, they do have a great trio of young playmakers and we already mentioned that Tim Patrick could be the missing piece for this group.

Phillip Lindsay, RB

Lindsay is averaging almost five yards per carry and has 744 yards from scrimmage in nine games, and he leads the Broncos with five total touchdowns.

Somebody, feed Phil.

We need more from Lindsay, and more from his backup, Royce Freeman, for that matter. Those guys are fun to watch when the running game is firing on all cylinders.

Courtland Sutton, WR

The progression of Courtland Sutton from his rookie season to his second NFL season has been absolutely tremendous.

Sutton is averaging almost 16 yards per catch, reeling in 44 passes so far this season with 692 yards and four touchdowns. He’s cut down on drops, he’s playing a more complete game, and as a result, he’s already just 12 yards away from matching his rookie receiving yardage total as a rookie.

He’s got more first-down catches (32) this season than he did last season with 17 more targets.

Superstar in the making? Absolutely.

Noah Fant, TE

It was a little slow-going for Noah Fant in his first eight NFL games, though there were flashes of brilliance and big-play abilities.

Against the Cleveland Browns, Fant was absolutely outstanding, and showed off the fullness of his skill set as a receiver in this Denver offense, making plays up the seam, showing great concentration and body control by the sideline, and taking a drag route 75 yards for a touchdown with pure physical dominance and speed.

Feed Noah Fant.
