Broncos Offense Honorable Mentions

Graham Tiedtke

Noah Fant, TE

I know this one is way out there. But Noah Fant has made tremendous improvement since the beginning of the season. While he still has a way to go, I think he has really come around.

Fant has 23 receptions on the year for 300 yards, including a 75-yard touchdown. His blocking has improved and I feel strongly about his potential impact later on in the season.

I honestly do not know why Fant has not surpassed Jeff Heuerman on the team’s official depth chart. He has played exceptionally well and definitely deserves that top spot.

The Broncos will roll with Brandon Allen at quarterback this week and that could potentially give Fant an advantage from the first half of the season. Then, Drew Lock is expected to take over. I predict that the two rookies will do very well on the field for the Denver Broncos.

Shelby Manning

Phillip Lindsay, RB

Phillip Lindsay continues to be the premier back in Denver, and is honestly a consistent and reliable part of this Broncos’ offense and team.

Individual offensive success in Denver is realistically hard to grade this season, due to the fact that the offense has simply played so poorly. As one of the only Pro Bowlers in Denver last year, Lindsay will more than likely not get a roster spot for the game this year, due to his lack of explosiveness that this offense has held him back from.

Breaking 1,000 yards in 2018, Lindsay is currently sitting at 584 with 5 TDs on the year. However, when Lindsay is given the ball, he is so good at being able to create something out of nothing, and creating separation for significant yardage.

If the Broncos’ offense is able to turn its narrative around, there is very high hope that Lindsay will be able to make a strong push to break 1,000 yards this season and get back on track to being the premier back that he is. If the offense is able to get better, it will create much more opportunity for each player.

Phillip Lindsay, RB

Philip Lindsay has come out this year and showed everyone that his success last year was not a fluke. In his second season playing for his childhood team, Lindsay has torn up his opponents.

Lindsay accounts for five of the team’s seven rushing touchdowns, and leads all Broncos in 6-point scores this year. His incredible acceleration in space and shifty feet on the line make him very difficult to bring down, despite his small physique.

Lindsay currently has 584 yards on 118 attempts, giving him an average of 4.9. 5 yards a rush can win you football games, and that proves the kind of talent Lindsay has. He can turn the tide of a game with a single scamper.

He’s a player any fan of football should be excited about to have in the league. He’s an excellent leader on the field by example, and in the locker room. His ability to fire up the team during a game on the sideline, lift his teammates up in his post game interviews, and his genuine love of the game make him a shining example of what it means to be a Bronco.

While Phillip Lindsay has certainly been turning heads as he somehow continues to improve, he deserved to be talked about in a Broncos’ MVP discussion, but he doesn’t take the top spot in my book.

Regardless, a big Mile High Salute to you, Phillip!i
