Garett Bolles and the Offensive Line

After not hearing much out of Garett Bolles for a couple of weeks, he is back on the shortlist after getting in the holding penalty column once again.

Bolles has cost this team so much yardage this season, and one can’t help but wonder how many scores that could account for hypothetically. Although it is unclear what the future of Garett Bolles will bring, one can’t help but imagine that he will either be off of the team next season or out of the starting line-up, anyway.

There is a chance Bolles may develop further, and John Elway likely won’t be ready to give up on the first-round pick just yet. Maybe Mark Schlereth can give Bolles some pointers.

Meanwhile, while the offensive line didn’t give up nine sacks this week, they still did not look great. Allen was able to create with his legs but was still sacked three times, and had very little time to throw, only about 2.41 seconds per pass.

This is very little time for decision making, and luckily, Allen was able to not turn the ball over. While a mobile guy like Brandon Allen may make the job of the offensive line a little easier, they must dig in and become more disciplined and clean up their game.
