Key Matchups

Von Miller vs. the Browns’ Offensive Line

With the Browns and Broncos both struggling, this week, someone will get back on track. If it’s to be the Broncos, a good way to get that started would be for Ed Donatell and the defense to take advantage of the Browns depleted offensive line.

Specifically, it would be a great opportunity for Von Miller to have himself a day. While he has done a great job at creating opportunity for others, he has not been able to feast as much this season. This would be a great set-up for Von to do some destroying.

Defensive coordinator Ed Donatell should be preparing a game plan that includes a lot of blitzing and bringing the house down on QB Baker Mayfield.

Browns’ Receivers vs. Broncos’ Secondary

Any time that a group of defensive backs has to go against the likes of Odell Beckham Jr and Jarvis Landry, that is a tough task that requires the right personnel and lots of preparation. Although Odell and Jarvis are currently fighting injury (groin and shoulder respectively), they are still more than capable of busting a game wide open.

However, it is important that the Broncos’ defense is still ready for that challenge; they must place assignments accordingly and with great care; Isaac Yiadom is likely to be picked on in any scenario. While Chris Harris Jr. will likely be lining up against Odell, look for safeties Justin Simmons or Kareem Jackson to be playing close to Landry.
