Sayre, what are you doing?! The Broncos need an offensive tackle to replace Bolles! There’s no way we’re taking any other position!

Hey, you might be right about that. The Broncos very well could be the team that winds up with Iowa’s Tristan Wirfs or Georgia’s Andrew Thomas, but what if they don’t?

We have plenty of time to explore mock draft scenarios and there are a ton of options out there to look into, and one of those options has to be Auburn’s Derrick Brown.

Brown would have been a great pick in the first round for the Broncos in the 2019 draft as well, but he decided to return to Auburn for his final year of eligibility, and it’s paid off for him.

Brown is an absolute force on the defensive interior and is capable of controlling a game from the inside out. He racks up stats, but more than that, this guy consistently makes life tough on opposing offensive coordinators because he’s constantly living in the backfield and winning at the point of attack.

The defense is the top strength of the Broncos moving forward. The defensive line is already pretty strong with the current group in place, but what does the future hold for Derek Wolfe? Will Shelby Harris be back? Even if both guys come back, the Broncos need someone to play full-time in the middle and let Mike Purcell rotate in.

Brown is a game-wrecker on the interior and he plays with the kind of nastiness and clean technique I think Vic Fangio will love.
