Stock-Down

Joe Flacco, QB

Although Joe Flacco won over some fans with his scathing criticism of Rich Scangarello’s conservative play-calling that would result in a loss, his performance on the field was once again uninspiring, with 174 yards but once again no TD’s, and incapability once again of putting together many successful drives for the Broncos.

However, Flacco’s performance was likely impacted by a surprise neck-injury that surfaced Monday morning, which will require the QB to likely miss some significant time. The official word is that Flacco has a herniated disk in his neck, and could miss up to 5-6 weeks (per Ian Rapoport).

This means QB Brandon Allen gets the nod for once, and the Broncos will get an opportunity to see one of their back-ups. This may be the end of Flacco’s time with the Broncos, and while we wish we had better things to say about it, it is in the best interest of both parties to move on in the off-season.
