The Denver Broncos suffered yet another last-minute loss, this time to the Indianapolis Colts. Whose stock is up, and whose finally hit the cellar?

Once again, the Denver Broncos suffered another gut-wrenching loss, that came on a made field goal in the last minute of the game.

This time, it was against the Indianapolis Colts. However, it doesn’t really feel like this has happened against three different opponents, it feels like we have watched the same game on replay on three separate occasions. It feels like the other two last-second losses after the one against the Bears have just been bad deja-vu.

Unfortunately, they have not, and the Denver Broncos are now 2-6, and it now truly feels that this season is beyond salvaging. However, there is more season to go, and there will (hopefully) be a few more positive moments from the Broncos to look forward to.

Although it may feel like everyone should be on the downward spiral when it comes to the stock report, that is not the case. There were actually performances that did stand out on Sunday. Let’s get to the stock report, and find out who sank and who swam this week.

Stock-Up

Derek Wolfe, DL

Although it was speculated that Sunday’s loss to the Colts may be DE Derek Wolfe’s final game with the Denver Broncos, he put on a performance that showed why he should not be put on the trading block.

Wolfe was the bloodline of the Broncos’ defense on Sunday, with two sacks and a forced fumble that should have been enough to put the game away. Unfortunately, it is a clear reality that the Denver Broncos’ offense is too inept to be relied on for anything, and Wolfe’s great performance would end up going to waste.

Wolfe’s fourth-quarter sack on Jacoby Brissett was just inches away from being a safety, which may have ended up putting the game away at that point. In fact, Von Miller nearly had a safety as well, but Brissett was able to evade him, which allowed the Colts a huge gain that would set Vinatieri to kick the game-winner that would prove to be the final blow to the Broncos’ blunder.

Wolfe set the Denver Broncos up for success, and it truly is tragic that nothing would result from the day he had. However, it was just another example of how much blood, sweat and tears that Wolfe puts into his game week in and week out.

Better yet, Wolfe has been loyal to Denver, loves this team, and doesn’t want to go anywhere, despite Denver’s recent lack of success. This locker room needs guys who are locked in for better or worse.
