The Denver Broncos are leading against the Colts. However, the team has yet to take advantage of the mistakes by Indianapolis.

It has not been an easy game after 30 minutes. The Denver Broncos offense has done a good job with time control and keeping drives alive.

They have gotten some help by the Indianapolis Colts’ defense as untimely penalties have helped keep the Broncos offensive drives alive. But whenever the Broncos get into the red zone, the drive sputters. In the final ten yards, the play calling has been really bad.

On one drive, the Broncos offense had three straight passes with three yards to go until the end zone. Two of the passes by Joe Flacco were completed to some Colts fans in the end zone. Shame that they could not keep the ball as a souvenir.

Because of the sputtering in the red zone, the Broncos have settled for two short Brandon McManus field goals. The Broncos kicker also has a tackle on his stat sheet.

As for the Denver Broncos defense, they have had some solid moments. Von Miller and Josey Jewell have recorded half a sack on Jacoby Brissett. Chris Harris Jr. almost had a pick six. And Dre’Mont Jones deflected a pass.

The Colts did attempt a field goal but was poorly missed by Adam Vinatieri. He would later convert a 55 yard field goal to give the Colts their first points.

Courtland Sutton had a solid run and stiff arm. Joe Flacco had a great scramble for a first down. But overall, it has been a slow moving game.

The fact that Denver is leading helps. But they are either going to need to keep this up and hope that the Colts offense does not improve after halftime or they are going to need to put a little more gas on the pedal.

The Denver Broncos will get the football to start the second half. Here is hoping they can keep up their strategy moving.
