For the third time this season, the Denver Broncos were unable to close the door on their opponent. And it results in what has been an ongoing theme.

Heartbreaking. Soul crushing. Deflating. That has been the story for most of the Denver Broncos season. The team was looking for their third win of the 2019 season. Sadly, it did not happen today.

Denver lead for the majority of the game. They were even up by as many as ten points in the third quarter. But another lead slipped away as the Colts did not take the lead until 22 seconds remained in the game.

The Broncos came out strong and were able to get a rushing touchdown from Royce Freeman. But from there, Denver was unable to score any more points. Indianapolis was able to outscore Denver 12-0 the rest of the way.

What makes it even more frustrating were the amount of chances that the Denver Broncos had in this game to close the door. From a strip sack by Derek Wolfe that set up the offense in great position to get some points on the board.

dark. Next. Broncos not taking advantage of mistakes by Colts

I am putting this game on the offense. In the first half, it looked as if the play calling was great up until the red zone plays. But after the touchdown to start the second half, Rich Scangarello appeared to go back to his conservative play calling.

It honestly is so upsetting to see this Broncos team not able to shut the door on the opposing team. I expect the Broncos to make some more moves as the trade deadline approaches on Tuesday.

Denver will face the Cleveland Browns next week at Mile High. It will be nice if the Broncos can get a win going into the bye. But who knows if that will come to fruition.
