Diontae Spencer

This is the true wild card here. While we were talking about a speedster with Fred Brown, Diontae Spencer is about as true of a speedster as you find at wideout. Though he’s 27-years old, Spencer still looks to be in great shape for a player at that age.

Denver is using him as a gadget player and return specialist currently, but Spencer is more than capable of being a potential replacement for Sanders.

In fact, Spencer was a burner much like Sanders coming from Pittsburgh. But due to early depth at wide receiver there, Spencer could not latch on. While I think Spencer will still get his fair share of reverses and potential end-around plays, his route tree will be exploited more and we will see if Denver can take advantage.

Spencer is the type of player who can move the offense to a whole other level because of his home run capability. There’s really only one guy like him in the division, and that’s Tyreek Hill.

Hill started out like Spencer as a gadget player but became more than that very quickly. Spencer is nowhere near the player Hill is. However, it would not surprise me to see Denver use Spencer more on seam routes along with the gimmick plays.
