Tim Patrick

The Broncos received a good dose of news regarding Tim Patrick as he will return from injured reserve, eventually. Patrick is one of two lesser-known players who can help replace Emmanuel Sanders’ production.

Patrick has been out dealing with a broken hand he suffered week one. He will be eligible to practice next week.

Patrick is a tremendous story. In fact, he came from the San Francisco 49ers originally before joining the Denver Broncos. Before hopping with 49ers, Patrick was a member of the Baltimore Ravens. In the span of a year, he was with Baltimore, San Francisco, then found a home with the Denver Broncos. Patrick saw his stock rise last year when he found himself on the 53-man roster.

Back when Case Keenum was quarterbacking the Denver Broncos, we saw Patrick rise to the occasion numerous times. During the Oakland Raiders home game, last season Patrick had a key catch to put the Broncos into field goal range. This became a regular occurrence last season. He’s a player that is not flashy, but reliable to do just about everything.

This is what makes Patrick’s spot unique. Hamilton is a true marvel as a route runner and can catch passes well in the slot. Patrick is not flashy enough to be a number one, but if an opportunity rises like this he could surprise and be a number two.
