Execute on third and fourth-down conversions
Twenty-seven might just be the (un)lucky number for the Denver Broncos. Like I mentioned in the last slide, the Broncos rank 27th in points per game. They also rank 27th in third-down conversions.
Yes, the Broncos have gone for it on fourth-down multiple times this season, but you cannot rely on that week in and week out. They convert on 0.7 percent of their fourth-down conversions, tied with seven teams and behind five.
It would be easier if the team just converts on first and second down every time, but that is just not how things go in the NFL. There have been poor play calls, as well as missed opportunities due to getting sacked, inaccurate throws, or drops.
That cannot happen against the Indianapolis Colts. If that happens, It is unfortunately safe to say the Denver Broncos will have a long day.
