While it could be the end of the road for Chris Harris Jr., the Denver Broncos should wait until the offseason to trade him if that is in the plans.

If you have ever met me, you know that I am a huge fan of Chris Harris Jr. One of my favorite players to ever wear the orange and blue for the Denver Broncos. He also has a great story as an undrafted free agent. The amount of work that he has put in since joining the Broncos in 2011 is quite the achievement.

But I do also know that Chris Harris Jr.’s time in Denver could be coming to an end soon. I am coming to that realization. But I do not think the Broncos would be making the right move in trading him before the trade deadline this season. John Elway has even stated that they do not have anything for him at this time.

Trust me, if Denver can get a solid deal of draft picks, then by all means. However, from what is being talked about, the asking price for Chris Harris Jr. might be a bit too much for most teams. Plus, there could be a key reason why the Broncos should not move him.

The depth at the cornerback position for the Broncos.

Next. Chris Harris Jr. does not believe he will be traded. dark

With Bryce Callahan still not on the field due to a foot injury and potentially losing Devante Bausby for the year if he does not come off injured reserve, the Broncos would only have Isaac Yiadom and Devonte Harris as healthy cornerbacks.

There would be a chance the Broncos would move Kareem Jackson back to cornerback, but it has been made very clear that he will be at safety. Losing Chris Harris Jr. without a backup plan would put the Broncos secondary in a really tough spot.

There is uncertainty on what happens, but I do not think it would be a smart move to move Chris Harris Jr. before the deadline.
