If all goes according to plan, Connor McGovern will play his way to a new contract with the Broncos after the season, and the drafting of Wirfs at left tackle would mean the team would have four out of five starting spots locked in place.

The other problem area up front in 2019 and since 2017 has been Ron Leary and right guard.

Not only has Leary struggled to be the same player he was in Dallas since the 2017 season, but he’s also struggled badly with penalties.

Enter Alex Leatherwood, who has proven himself a capable starter not only at the right guard position but now at left tackle as well.

The Broncos need some flexibility up front and they need to build some depth. I think Leatherwood could come in and give the Broncos a very athletic duo of rookie linemen to go with Dalton Risner at left guard and hopefully a healthy Ja’Wuan James at right tackle.
