The Denver Broncos had a slump of epic proportions against the Chiefs on TNF that may be the tell-all of the season. Whose stock soared, and whose sank?

Unfortunately, there seems to be little to celebrate after the Kansas City Chiefs plundered the Denver Broncos last night on Thursday Night Football. The worst part is that this Chiefs team embarrassed the Broncos without their main man, Patrick Mahomes.

Mahomes left in the second quarter with what appears to be a dislocated kneecap. It is unclear at this moment how serious it is or how much time he will miss, although the expectations looks to be about three weeks, according to Ian Rapoport.

This stock report is going to be a bit different from the previous ones. As we all know, there was not much positive to take away from Thursday Night’s performance. However, one player did make his presence known and managed to stand out on a dismal night for the Denver Broncos and made his already high stock rise even further.

Stock Up

Justin Simmons, Safety

Justin Simmons not only continues to shine on this Broncos defense but was the only player who made any kind of positive impact on the night.

Simmons finished the game with eight tackles and two passes defended. He has not missed a defensive snap yet this season and also has two interceptions thus far.

He has balled out for this team, and has been arguably been one of John Elway’s best defensive draft picks during his tenure with the Broncos.

Simmons’ play only continues to elevate as he matures and grows into his role with the team. He tends to fly under the radar a bit, but it is a safe bet that going forward, he should become a household name.

Management will have some decisions to make with Justin Simmons, and the decision should be easy; the Broncos need to give Simmons an extension and keep him around.
