Broncos’ Defense Shines in Shutout of the Titans in Week 6, Looks to Keep Pace versus Chiefs

The Week 6 contest between the Denver Broncos and Tennessee Titans was all defense, all day. The Broncos came away with seven combined sacks on Marcus Mariota (who would be benched in the second half) and Ryan Tannehill.

The two Titans QBs also combined for 0 touchdowns and 3 interceptions, including Chris Harris Jr’s first of the season. For a defense who was under heavy scrutiny for zero sacks and zero takeaways throughout the first three weeks, they are not looking so bad, after all. However, an offense led by Patrick Mahomes is an entirely different kind of beast than that led by Mariota. The Broncos’ defense may need a repeat of last week’s stellar performance to keep Mahomes and crew at bay.

Chiefs Look to Get Back On Track and Avoid Third Consecutive Loss

The past two weeks have proven that Mahomes and the Chiefs are beatable, after all. The Indianapolis Colts stunned the Chiefs two weeks ago on Sunday Night football with a score of 19-13 and a game that was entertaining to the finish.

On Sunday, the Houston Texans beat the Chiefs 31-24, led by an outstanding performance by Deshaun Watson. Although the Chiefs still sit atop the AFC West, they could be in jeopardy if they were to lose Thursday night and the Raiders were to defeat Green Bay on Sunday. Kansas City will be coming in to Denver hungry to avenge their losses and to remain comfortable in division play.
