Brock Osweiler was a key member of the Broncos Super Bowl 50 season. Now less than four years removed, the quarterback announced his retirement.

While most fans seem to remember the events that led to Brock Osweiler signing with the Houston Texans, his return and sub par performance in 2017, he did quite a bit for the Denver Broncos organization. Without him, I don’t think Denver would be hoisting their third Lombardi on February 7th, 2016.

Now, after all that has passed, the former backup quarterback who led the team to five wins in seven games will be hanging them up. Brock Osweiler announced his retirement from the NFL on Wednesday. He spent his entire NFL career with the Broncos, Texans, Browns, and Dolphins.

After Peyton Manning was forced to leave the game due to an injury, Osweiler stepped in and helped lead the Broncos to a 12-4 record. It was good for the fifth straight division title and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.

With Brock Osweiler leading the Broncos to wins over teams like the Patriots and Bengals, it was playoff mania for the Broncos. Unfortunately, Osweiler’s poor performance in the regular season finale ushered in Peyton Manning to save the day. From there began Osweiler’s odd career as a paid man who could not get back to the promise land.

But Broncos Country should be thankful. If not for Osweiler stepping in during the 2015 season, we would not be hearing “This one’s for Pat!” He played such a huge part in the success of the Super Bowl season. That is what I will not forget about Brock.

Congrats on your retirement. Hopefully life treats him well in his new life after football. I hope it is a peaceful and fun time for him and his family. Wishing you all the best.
