Because they have Drew Lock

Another reason the Broncos should pass on trading for Newton is because they just drafted a guy who they hope will be their future in Drew Lock. There is no sense in trading for another veteran quarterback to be the starter when you have Lock waiting for his turn post-Flacco.

I am okay with Lock waiting his turn behind Flacco, but adding another obstacle to his development would not be ideal. That would be some bad management.

Lock is inching closer to a return to the field after being placed on injured reserve with a thumb injury. The closer he is to getting on the field, the better. A trade for Cam Newton would only stall his development. It would make absolutely no sense.

So, if it were up to me, the Denver Broncos would stay away from Cam Newton. I can’t see it happening and I think it would be a bad idea if it did happen.
