Denver Broncos: Why trading for Cam Newton would make no sense

Asking price would likely be too high

As you may guess, the asking price would likely start out to be way too high for most teams. I do not think the Denver Broncos are in any position to give up a lot for anybody at this time, especially Newton.

Newton, the first-overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft, has made it to the Super Bowl one time in his career. Yes, after the 2015 season when the Denver Broncos defeated him and his Panthers team.

His contract is set to run out after the 2020 season, so whoever trades for him (if), they will have to work out a new deal for him. I do not see that happening when they have Joe Flacco.

Sure, Newton is a physical player and could break sacks but it would not be a smart move to trade for him, especially right now as he rehabs an injury.

I could maybe consider this trade if his durability was the only issue in this topic.
