Mike Purcell, defensive tackle

It’s hard to argue Mike Purcell has not been a huge (literally) difference for the Broncos’ defense despite just playing 16 snaps against the Chargers and coming off the field plenty against the Titans.

The fact of the matter is, the Denver run defense has been outstanding the last two games with him playing nose tackle, and he’s not just clogging gaps out there.

Purcell had five tackles against the Titans and two tackles for loss in a game where the Broncos desperately needed to win in the trenches.

Yet another Colorado native making plays for his home-state team, Purcell should be a mainstay as the Broncos’ starting nose tackle. He’s also helped free things up for Shelby Harris at defensive end.
