Emmanuel Sanders, WR

Although some Broncos fans may disagree with me on this one, I think Emmanuel Sanders is a player I would strongly consider re-signing before the season is over.

Sanders is clearly going to be a good fit for the Broncos’ new offense despite his lack of involvement some weeks. He’s 32 years old and in three of the Broncos’ five games this season, he’s gone for 86, 98, and 104 yards.

Sanders has become a great leader in the Broncos’ wide receiver room and a veteran player who sets the example every single day of what it means to work hard.

We’re obviously not at the facility watching Sanders work, but the fact that this guy came back from an Achilles injury as quickly as he did at the age of 32 is nothing short of remarkable.

Even going into his mid-30s, I would think Sanders has shown enough to be an asset in Rich Scangarello’s offense, and having him in the fray doesn’t prevent the Broncos from being able to take another speedy receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft.

What it does do is prevent them from having to take one too early or having to spend big on a different guy in free agency. There are not many receivers primed for free agency who can give the Broncos what Emmanuel Sanders gives.

Considering what the team is building, Sanders could not only be the best friend of Joe Flacco, but he could also finish out his career as a fantastic weapon for Drew Lock.

If the Broncos can find ways to keep winning games, I say forget the trade talks revolving around Sanders and get him signed to a new deal in Denver to finish his career and break some records there.
