Which Denver Broncos players could end up getting contract extensions after the team re-signed Andy Janovich to a three-year deal?

The Denver Broncos just handed out an in-season contract extension to fullback Andy Janovich, one of a number of players with expiring contracts following the 2019 season.

Although Janovich is not the most high-profile player the Broncos had to work out a new contract with, he is certainly one of the most impactful on a per snap basis, whether he’s playing offense or special teams.

We recently highlighted Janovich’s substantial impact on the run game.

So what other players on the Broncos could be next in line for a new contract? With the exception of cornerback Chris Harris Jr., who seems poised to hit the open market more so than any other player approaching free agency, it feels like the extension for Janovich could be an open door for a number of players to get a deal done.

Our good friend Cody Roark is reporting one particular player in the Broncos’ secondary could be an early favorite to be given a contract extension.

That’s the kind of news we like to hear, and if the Broncos keep on winning like they did last week against the Chargers, the more extensions, the merrier.

Let’s take a look at a few players who might be the next to sign in-season extensions for the Broncos and why, starting with Simmons.
