Key Matchups

Titans offensive line vs. Broncos front seven

It was brought to my attention this week that the Tennessee Titans offense line has allowed 22 sacks on Marcus Mariota! It is only five weeks into the season. That is on average about four sacks a game.

In what could be a defensive game, the Denver Broncos will need to take advantage of the sacks allowed by the offensive line. Von Miller and Mailk Reed will look to feast on the Titans and bring that sack total up.

Marcus Mariota vs. Broncos secondary

If Marcus Mariota is able to get rid of the football quickly, then it will be up to the Broncos secondary to make some moves. Justin Simmons was able to record the Broncos first turnover of the season when he picked off Philip Rivers.

While Marcus Mariota has been sacked quite a bit, he has yet to throw an interception through five games. In a game where a defensive play could be the turning point, the Broncos will need to force Mariota into mistakes.

X-Factor: Joe Flacco

Yes, I believe that Joe Flacco will be the biggest difference maker in the football game. Because Mariota has yet to throw an interception this season, Flacco will need to play turnover free football, if he can.

I see the Broncos offense as a bit stronger than the Titans. Tennessee has a solid run game. But Denver did a solid job shutting down Austin Eckler and Melvin Gordon last week. If they can do that against Derrick Henry and company, they will force the passing game to win the game.

As long as Joe Flacco can have a solid performance, he can be a big factor into this game.
