The Denver Broncos made a move at cornerback on Tuesday, signing Coty Sensabaugh and placing De’Vante Bausby on IR.

The Denver Broncos brought in a number of cornerbacks for a workout on Tuesday. Among the group were Coty Sensabaugh, David Amerson, Shareece Wright, Deatrick Nichols, and Chris Campbell.

At the conclusion of the workouts, the team has decided that Sensabaugh has won the job. The Broncos have signed the 30-year old cornerback.

In a corresponding move, the team placed cornerback De’Vante Bausby on injured reserve after he suffered a severe neck injury that left him paralyzed for a short period of time.

Sensabaugh has appeared in 101 career games since entering the league as a fourth-round pick by the Tennessee Titans back in 2012.

After spending four seasons in Tennessee, Sensabaugh had stints with the Rams and Giants (both in 2016), and Pittsburgh Steelers (2017-2018).

He has 248 career tackles (35 tackles per season in the league), as well as three career interceptions.

His tackling ability is surely one of the bigger reasons the Denver Broncos chose him over the other cornerbacks they worked out. Vic Fangio’s defense requires everybody to know how to tackle.

Sensabaugh is a fast cornerback, too. He runs the 40-yard dash at a very fast 4.42 seconds.

The Broncos are thin at cornerback this season. Outside of Chris Harris Jr., there hasn’t been much to be excited about. The team signed Bryce Callahan away from the Chicago Bears this offseason but he has been nursing injuries since his arrival.

Kareem Jackson has also played some cornerback during his career but the Broncos have him playing at the safety position.

Next. Denver Broncos: Davontae Harris the next man up at CB. dark

Isaac Yiadom has struggled since being drafted by the Broncos last year and even if Bausby was able to play, the move to sign another cornerback seemed inevitable. Hopefully, Sensabaugh will be able to learn the defense fast and make a quick impact for the Denver Broncos defense.
