Broncos’ Special Teams

In the third quarter, the Chargers got a huge breath of life from a punt return by defensive back Desmond King.

King took a punt 68 yards to the house, highlighting another special teams miscue by the Broncos that could have been very costly. It was at this point that much of Broncos Country became uneasy that another second-half fall apart was about to occur.

This ended up not really being the case, but it does show that the special teams is a phase that it still poorly executed and the weakest part of this team.

It feels as if the Broncos’ special teams has been dismal for years. Special teams must work to prevent plays like this going forward.

In case you missed it, check out King’s return here.

Brandon McManus also missed a 54-yard field goal when the Broncos really needed some points on the board.
