Broncos’ Offensive Line

The offensive line woes continue, as the big men up front had a rough day at the office, including penalties and blown assignments.

Dalton Risner, Ronald Leary, Elijah Wilkinson, and Garett Bolles each had their own struggles on the day, including a strip-sack allowed by Bolles.

While the eventual return of Ja’Wuan James should improve this line, these men need to become more disciplined. It is also worth mentioning that Joe Flacco took another beating in this game.

In five games, the Broncos have been penalized for offensive holding 12 times, almost four more penalties in that category than the rest of the league, and have lost 120 yards in that category alone (per NFL Penalty Tracker).

It is a little painful to think about how many of these penalties have killed drives, especially Bolles’ four-penalty game against the Bears. Hopefully in the weeks to come, this line can put up a consistently better performance.
