The Denver Broncos reached a milestone. They have won their 500th game as a franchise, including the playoffs with their Week 5 win against the Chargers.

The Denver Broncos have been around since 1960 and on Sunday, they reached a tremendous milestone.

With a win against the Los Angeles Chargers, the Broncos have won their 500th game as a franchise.

The Broncos would have gotten that record sooner if it were not for two poor seasons where they won just eleven total games. However, that does not matter now.

Late owner Pat Bowlen was not only a big part of building the NFL as it is today, but he also juggled the major task of owning an NFL franchise. The team has had some very iconic people in their organization. Frank Tripuka was the first quarterback in team history and helped put the team on the map.

Since then, the Broncos have had some pretty phenomenal players, from Steve Atwater, Mark Jackson, Tom Jackson, Floyd Little,Terrell Davis, John Elway, Shannon Sharpe, Rod Smith, and more recently Demaryius Thomas, Peyton Manning, Von Miller, Chris Harris Jr.

Under late owner Pat Bowlen’s ownership, the Broncos went to seven Super Bowls, winning three of them. Peyton Manning was acquired in 2012 and it took just a couple of seasons for the team to get back to the Super Bowl. Then, a few years later, they won Super Bowl 50, which marked the final game for Manning.

With a win on Sunday, the Broncos recorded their 477th regular season victory in team history. They currently have twenty-three playoff victories.

Even when the team was not performing well, fans still showed up. The Broncos have sold out every game since 1970.

Now, the fans have something to be excited about again, in my eyes. The Broncos acquired Super Bowl-winning quarterback Joe Flacco in a trade with the Baltimore Ravens earlier in the year. They have some young running backs in Phillip Lindsay and Royce Freeman, and they also have a great receiving group, with Emmanuel Sanders leading the way and Courtland Sutton following his lead.

Next. Denver Broncos: Embrace growth of Courtland Sutton. dark

On defense, well, we know those guys but I’ll name them anyway. Von Miller, Bradley Chubb, Chris Harris Jr., Kareem Jackson, Justin Simmons. Those are guys who have the potential to cook up a nice defense.

The first victory for the Broncos of the 2019 season was against the division opponent Chargers, who have been in second place in the division for the past couple of seasons.

This victory should be a great confidence booster. Hopefully they can keep going and get a win against the Tennessee Titans next week. This team has a ways to go, but they have to start somewhere.
