The Denver Broncos used a strong first quarter to gain an early lead against the Los Angeles Chargers. But can they hold the lead to secure the first win?

Trying my best not to jinx the Denver Broncos, but the first half is looking great for Broncos Country. The first two drives for the Broncos were a thing of beauty.

Denver came out slinging with three big plays to get the Broncos in the red zone. Phillip Lindsay was able to get the team in the end zone, without the help of Dalton Risner this time. While the Chargers were able to get a first down, they could not do much and were forced to punt.

Denver was able to score for the second time in as many drives as Courtland Sutton caught a pass from Joe Flacco and broke a tackle on his way to a 70 yard touchdown.

And, get this Broncos Country, the Denver Broncos were able to record their first takeaway of the season. Pressure from Von Miller forced a Philip Rivers pass to sail right into the hands of Justin Simmons.

The second quarter was mostly a defensive battle. Brandon McManus continued his streak of made field goals under 50 yards. Meanwhile, Los Angeles missed a 48 yard field goal due to Dre’Mont Jones getting a hand that forced the kick to be short of the goal post.

I sure hope that the second half will be a little easier for the Denver Broncos and they can actually hold this lead. Broncos Country has not seen a win by their team since December 2nd. I will pull out all the good juju in hopes that the team can secure that win.

The Los Angeles Chargers will get the football to start. It has been a solid start, but for 30 minutes, please Denver Broncos, please stay ahead.
