While the Denver Broncos offense did not get a lot going in the second half, the defense was able to provide some key stops to secure win number one.

Broncos Country can finally let out a sigh of relief. The Denver Broncos have secured win number one of the 2019 season. And it could not have come at a most opportune time. After being shot out of a cannon in the first half with two touchdown scoring drives, it was the defense’s turn to see if they could hold the lead.

As we would see, they were able to do just that. In fact, the Denver Broncos defense held the Chargers out of the end zone, allowing only two field goals. The only touchdown scored in the second half was on a Desmond King punt return for a touchdown.

Going into Sunday’s game, the Denver Broncos defense did not provide a turnover. Against the Chargers, they were able to get three of them. Two in the first half and a key interception by A.J. Johnson in the red zone that kept the Chargers from scoring their first points of the game at the time.

It was definitely a bit dicey as the game went on, but it proved to be a true gut check. The Denver Broncos defense, with how much negative light they got in the two games that they failed to shut the offense down, were finally able to do enough in the second half to be sure that did not happen for a third time.

But there is no time to rest, the Broncos return home to face the Tennessee Titans. They were involved in a defensive battle that resulted in a loss. It is the perfect opportunity for the defense to build off the momentum of a win and start a bit of a streak next Sunday.

Time to get ready for the Tennessee Titans. Let’s go Broncos. Great to get that first win under the belt.
