Defense

Yes, I know the defense hasn’t been the highlight of the year. And with Bradley Chubb going down, Chris Harris Jr. trade speculations going around, and Von Miller having two sacks in four games, it’s hard to be excited for this group. Bear with me though, and let’s look at things a little bit more “glass half full”.

Eventually Von Miller will need to be replaced, and this will give us a great look at what our current future talent has in store at outside linebacker. Players like rookie Malik Reed will have to step up to fill Chubb’s absence. Reed manage to get a sack in Denver’s game against the Jaguars, and was pretty solid in the rest of his snaps.

Additionally we’ve seen good performances from De’Vante Bausby. He has had some excellent pass defenses the last two weeks. Bausby is 26 and came into the league as an undrafted free agent with the Bears. He was never given a really shot to prove himself, and was waived by multiple teams before joining the AAF. Bausby was having a stellar season when the AAF suspended its operations. From what I’ve seen he has the potential to be a VERY exciting player.
