At the quarter mark of the 2019 season, the Denver Broncos are sitting at 0-4. Philip Rivers’ experience with that slow of a start could provide a spark.

I am certain that Broncos Country did not expect an 0-4 start to the season. Especially with how competitive the team has been in the first four games. Right now, the team is looking up on the other three AFC West teams, including Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Broncos are set at their fifth attempt at their first win of the season on Sunday in Los Angeles. If there is a team that knows a thing or two about starting off the season with four straight losses, it is the Chargers. They are the only franchise in NFL history to start a season 0-4 and make the playoffs. They did it in 1992. In fact, they were able to win their division and secure a playoff victory.

Philip Rivers knows all about those slow starts as well. In fact, he was just a part of a 0-4 start in 2017. He provided a little bit of insight on the experience from that season.

The Los Angeles Chargers were able to finish the season 9-7. It was not enough to reach the postseason, but it does show that there is a chance that this team can bounce back and at least finish with a record above .500.

While Broncos Country might not want to hear what Philip Rivers has to say about Denver’s own record, I believe having the experience of having that slow start at the quarter mark of the season can give the team some insight. The Chargers even lost some close games like Denver did.

It may look doom and gloom right now, but the Denver Broncos can bounce back and get a respectful record. Anything can happen this season. It just comes down to piecing it together and getting that first win. It will start building up once that first win comes.
