De’Vante Bausby, CB

2019 stats: 11 total tackles, 3 pass breakups

Although it took two games of Isaac Yiadom really struggling, the Broncos finally put De’Vante Bausby in the starting lineup against the Green Bay Packers and he responded with some very, very strong play.

Bausby quite closely resembles Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie with his long, wiry frame and elite closing speed, and he showed off those traits against the Packers with a couple of really nice pass breakups on third down.

When I broke down Bausby’s game after some really strong preseason play, it was obvious he could be a great fit for a zone defense like Vic Fangio’s and he’s showing signs of being a long-term starting option at one of the outside spots.

He can tend to be a little too aggressive breaking on routes, but if he can clean that up a little bit, he’s going to be a stud for this team.
