Phillip Lindsay & Royce Freeman, RB

2019 stats (combined)

  • 96 rushing attempts
  • 402 rushing yards
  • 2 touchdowns (both Lindsay)
  • 27 receptions
  • 206 receiving yards
  • 608 total yards from scrimmage

Although Rich Scangarello is taking some lumps along the way, the way he’s utilizing the Broncos’ top running back duo is absolutely awesome.

If the Broncos could create a bit more in the running game on a consistent basis, this duo could easily find its way to the 3,000 yards from scrimmage mark this season.

The Broncos are not only using Freeman in obvious run situations and Lindsay in obvious pass situations, but they are getting these guys involved almost on an exactly equal basis.

As the offensive line gains cohesion, I think lanes will open up for these backs and they will be able to take even more of a workload on.

They have been so good that Devontae Booker hasn’t touched the field on offense, hardly.

They’re currently on pace for 2,400 yards from scrimmage combined, and I think that number is going to continue to rise in the second quarter of the season.
