The Denver Broncos could be getting some major reinforcements against the Green Bay Packers, including Todd Davis and Bryce Callahan.

The Denver Broncos have stumbled to an 0-2 start as they look to find their footing both in Vic Fangio’s defense and Rich Scangarello’s offense, but now they are getting some talent reinforcements.

After nearly playing last week against the Chicago Bears, it appears linebacker Todd Davis and cornerback Bryce Callahan are even closer to playing against the Green Bay Packers this week.

As a matter of fact, Davis returned to practice in full today for the Broncos according to head coach Vic Fangio.

While the Broncos’ top inside linebacker seems like a safe bet to start against the Packers on Sunday, Callahan’s status is a bit more in limbo.

He’s been dealing with the lingering effects of a foot injury he suffered last season and spent all offseason recovering from. This injury is undoubtedly why it took about a week into free agency for Callahan to be signed despite two straight stellar seasons for the Bears.

Fangio said when Callahan does return, he will likely play outside corner.

The Broncos also got some positive news on the injury front regarding fullback Andy Janovich and linebacker Joe Jones.

Not only are Janovich and Jones valuable pieces of the offense and defense, respectively, they are also two of the Broncos’ best special teams players.

I wouldn’t argue with you if you said they were the two very best ones on the roster in that phase of the game, at least outside of kicker Brandon McManus.

With this positive progress, the most optimistic outlook is for all four guys to play Sunday in Green Bay. In all likelihood, the Broncos will ease these players back into action since it will be the first time they’re hitting the field, for some of them since training camp.

The Broncos also don’t have much time to sit around and wait and if these guys can help them win games right now, they’ve got to play.
