Check out whose stock is up and whose stock is down after the Denver Broncos Week 2 heart-breaker against the Chicago Bears.
The Denver Broncos are off to a disappointing 0-2 start after a Week 1 flop to the Oakland Raiders and a devastating and controversial loss against the Chicago Bears in Week 2.
It is likely that the finale of yesterday’s game will be talked about for ages to come, especially in debate over whether the roughing the passer penalty on Bradley Chubb was fair, or if Mitch Trubisky got his timeout off in time to bring the kicker out.
While we feel we may know, it does not change anything, and for the first time since 1999, the Broncos are coming into Week 3 winless and draw a tough task in visiting Lambeau Field to take on the Packers.
After Week 2, some players stock is going up, and some are going down. Let’s see who is who this week, beginning with the stock-up players.
Stock UP
Emmanuel Sanders, WR
Sanders hauled in 11 of 13 targets for 98 yards and a TD. However, that TD came at the most crucial point of the game, and he followed up by snagging the two-point conversion that appeared would win Denver the game (as we know now, that was not the case).
Sanders is just seven months removed from two different procedures to repair a torn Achilles, and by his speed, you’d never know it. He looks much of the same as the Pro Bowler that Denver has come to know and love.
Sanders appears to be the reliable target he has always been and remains to be the heart and soul of this offense. Emmanuel Sanders is a fighter, and fighters always stand a chance.
