Tough to bounce back from this

The Broncos are 0-2 to start their 2019 season.

Vic Fangio has yet to get a win as a rookie head coach.

The Broncos have two former Super Bowl MVPs on their roster and they aren’t getting enough from either guy.

When you put yourself in position to win a game and simply need a defensive stop to get a much-needed victory at home against a good defense and lose the way the Broncos did, it’s tough to bounce back from.

There was plenty of good in this game though from the Broncos. If we’re evaluating this team for the future and not for just right now, there’s plenty to be excited about.

  • Elijah Wilkinson looked really good at RT
  • Justin Simmons was making plays all over the field
  • Kareem Jackson was a really good pickup
  • Courtland Sutton came through in some clutch spots
  • Royce Freeman has quietly been better than Phillip Lindsay
  • Two games, two 20+ yard plays for Noah Fant (who hasn’t been perfect)
  • Josey Jewell looks good

Make no mistake — this Broncos team is young in a lot of key places and they are clearly not good enough at this point in time. They have a lot of work to do and a lot of ground to make up if they are going to be competitive this season.

Next. Positives to build on from week one loss. dark

They have to get one in Green Bay to avoid an 0-3 start to the 2019 season.
