Bears @ Broncos

Both the Broncos and Bears lost in Week 1 and will be looking to bounce back. Vic Fangio faces his old team in the Chicago Bears and is familiar with their system.

However, both teams struggled on both sides of the ball in Week 1.

I don’t expect much offensive productivity in this game and expect a defensive battle through all four quarters.

My prediction: The Broncos pull out a close victory in their home opener, winning 14-10.

Ugh. Before the season, I fully expected the team to go 3-1 in the first quarter of the season. Now? That’s tough. Best case scenario is that they go 2-2, in my opinion.

Well, they have a new head coach and new offensive player caller. I think that it might take them a couple more weeks to really figure things out—see what works.

Do the Broncos have an advantage over Chicago because Vic Fangio is a former coach over with the Bears? I personally think there is truth to that. Fangio, however, does not believe it.

It’s still early in the season, so there is no need to hit the panick button. But I need to see more from the Broncos all around.

Prediction: Bears win 20-10. (goes to find a place to hide).

You ask me about this game last week, I’d chalk it up as a win for Denver. However, the last game Denver played was ugly.

Chicago lost last week in a very low scoring affair with the Packers, but had a very dominant defensive display. Chicago’s solid D mixed with a well rounded offense causes concern for the Broncos.

If Denver can’t take down the Oakland defense I don’t expect them to conquer the Bears’ either.

It’ll be a low scoring, defensive game Sunday, but I’m gonna have to side with the Bears in this one.

Prediction: Bears win 17-13

After a tough loss in Oakland, the Broncos come home to host the Chicago Bears, who are coming off a home loss to the Packers.

I see this being a defensive battle. Both teams had a tough time getting anything going offensively, but both boast strong defenses. We get another installment of Von vs. Khalil.

I think playing at home gives Denver the edge. But I see this as a game that goes down to the triple zeroes in the fourth quarter. Give me Denver to bounce back in a big way.

Prediction: Denver wins 15-13
