Denver Broncos: Fantasy football week two advice
By Tylor Walden
Running Back
Alvin Kamara – He had a great game in the opener against Houston. What didn’t he do? Score a TD or eclipse 100 yards (either rushing or receiving). Similar to what I said about Josh Allen, Alvin had a “floor” game.
He has crushed previous matchups against the Rams and is my top overall play of the week. You weren’t winning the big money last week without Christian McCaffrey in your lineup. You won’t do it this week without Kamara.
Josh Jacobs – He doesn’t leave the field. He gets goal line work. He can be a weapon in the passing game (he just didn’t have to be last week). If Patrick Mahomes does Patrick Mahomes things against the Raiders defense, that could open up a big game for Jacobs here.
He will be the chalkiest chalk you could ever eat. You will have to eat it on some of your lineups as you don’t want to have to make up points.
Austin Ekelar – No Hunter Henry for the Chargers here. Who is going to do the work for them in the red zone? Who is going to be Philip Rivers’ security blanket when the pass protection inevitably breaks down?
Austin Ekeler. He had 12 carries and 6 catches. He had three TDs on those 18 touches. While I don’t think that kind of efficiency is sustainable, you can see the upside. David Johnson had 137 total yards on 24 touches and a TD.
Ekeler isn’t the same talent at RB but the workload is there. He will be chalky but you should load him up anyway.
Chris Thompson – How do you see this game script going? If you think that Washington can keep the lead and get the win, Adrian Peterson might be your guy. I think that Dallas jumps on Washington early. In that game script, Chris Thompson will be on the field.
He will get the work of a slot WR but can also get red zone carries. If you need a pivot off of Jacobs, this is it. He has similar upside to the Raiders back but should net about a third of the ownership.
Sony Michel – Michel had a very forgettable opener. I get it. The Steelers didn’t put up much of a fight and other backs carried the load for the Patriots.
New England should dominate the Dolphins here. Last season, New England beat the Dolphins 38-7. What did Michel do? 25 carries, 112 yards, one TD.
This game should better resemble that one but Sony could get in the box for two scores.
