Honorable Mention: Joe Flacco

Although Twitter may tell you otherwise, Joe Flacco had a pretty decent debut as QB1 of the Broncos.

Although continuously harassed by the Raiders front seven, Flacco finished 21/31 for 268 yards and 1 TD with an overall QBR of 105.3. While his stats do not appear as flashy as Derek Carr’s, Flacco played pretty well and had some pretty passes.

Besides a strip-sack that would be wiped away by a Raiders penalty, Flacco did a good job of taking care of the ball, avoiding turnovers and knowing when to throw it away, something Case Keenum greatly struggled with last season.

Although it was not the debut many hoped for, the Broncos offense will improve with Flacco at the helm if he performs in a similar manner every week.

However, Flacco is not mobile and it is imperative that the offensive line keeps him upright.
