Courtland Sutton, WR

In the offseason, there was a concern that Courtland Sutton was not ready to take the next step in his NFL game to become a potential WR1. Last night’s showing should put those issues to bed.

While his stat line of 7 receptions for 120 yards and 0 TD’s may not sound overly impressive, Sutton proved that he is going to be a matchup nightmare for defenders with his size and physicality.

Sutton was able to haul in huge passes and was able to display his athleticism. The Flacco-Sutton connection seemed to come naturally, and it seems like Sutton may eventually become Flacco’s favorite target, although we can’t forget about Pro Bowler Emmanuel Sanders.

At the young age of 23, there is only room to improve for Sutton, who hauled in all of his targets but one Monday night. It will be exciting to see Sutton’s production and improvement throughout the season, and if he can make a case for a potential Pro Bowl campaign. It is hopeful that he will be the future face of the Denver Broncos offense.
