While the result of the Denver Broncos 2019 season opener was tough to swallow, Garett Bolles ended up having a solid performance against Oakland.

Say what you may against Garett Bolles, I am here to congratulate him on a solid season opening performance against the Oakland Raiders. Despite the loss, there were some positives to take away from the game.

One of those was Garett Bolles. We all remember him as the first round pick a few years back. He has not been a solid player for the Denver Broncos. He is one of the few players who the majority of the times he is penalized, it is for holding. In his career, he has 29 penalties accepted against him. 21 of them were for holding. Not good numbers.

It was important for him to step up. Sure enough, he was able to do just that. In fact, minus the one bad play that ended up getting wiped out due to a Raiders penalty, Garett Bolles did not allow a sack or get penalized the entire game.

I know, right? Mind Blown.

It was a nice change of pace to see Bolles have a solid game. With the injury to Ju’Wuan James, there is no doubt we will need more of what we saw from him on Monday night. It certainly will not get easy for him next week.

Next. Winners and losers from Denver Broncos loss to Raiders. dark

Khalil Mack and the Chicago Bears come to Denver for the Broncos home opener on Sunday.

There is no doubt that Mack will be a tough challenge for a guy like Garett Bolles. But if he is able to neutralize the amount of damage that he is capable of, Joe Flacco will get the time to make some plays.

After Monday’s performance by most of the offensive line, having one with a solid performance is quite a refreshing change of pace.
