The Broncos finished 2018 with a disappointing 6-10 record, winning just one more game with Case Keenum than in the 2017 season, where they finished 5-11. It was the only time the Broncos had back to back losing seasons in the Pat Bowlen era-definitely not the side of history one wants to be on.

2019 brings Vic Fangio and his new coaching staff to the Mile High City, along with new QB Joe Flacco under center. Some notable offseason additions are Kareem Jackson, Bryce Callahan, Ja’Wuan James and rookie Drew Lock, who will spend most of this season on IR with a thumb injury.

The Broncos have one of the most difficult NFL schedules this season, and looks to be a pretty tough task for the team. While the team fortunately no longer has Vance Joseph calling the plays, the AFC West is just as strong as last year, if not stronger, with the Raiders looking to be at least a little improved.

There is not much room for error for the Broncos this season. One of the big factors will be if they play down to lesser opponent’s level and leave those games with losses, which happened frequently last year and ended the Broncos’ short-lived chances of a potential playoff run.

While I think the Broncos improve from last year and that Vic Fangio is likely the guy of the future, I think the Broncos may face some growing pains, and foresee them finishing with an 8-8 record. Division wise, I see the Broncos likely getting swept by the Chiefs, but splitting with the Chargers and Raiders.
