Predicting the Denver Broncos win-loss record for 2019

After the last two seasons of hopeless optimism, I’m back down in reality with my expectations of the Denver Broncos this upcoming season.
There is a lot to love about this team. The secondary is retooled after going through a transition the past two season, and to be honest, has the potential to be the best in the league if Bryce Callahan stays healthy, Isaac Yiadom continues his growth, and Justin Simmons has a bounce back season.
In addition to a strong secondary, the pass-rush continues to be a strength of this team and with defensive-minded head coach Vic Fangio and his former assistant Ed Donatell running the show, this defense has top-3 potential.
The one downfall of this defense, as has been the case the past two seasons, will be the offense. Can this offense put enough points on the board to keep the Broncos in the game and if nothing else, will the offense at least move the ball enough to not put the defense in tough situations game in and game out?
I’ll be honest, I’m not sure.
The offensive line should be better but there are still too many question marks (most notably left tackle Garrett Bolles) to truly feel comfortable with this unit despite Mike Munchak’s presence, and I hated the trade for Joe Flacco. I didn’t like it then, and I don’t really like it now.
Flacco has been a below average quarterback for multiple seasons and isn’t even close to being the same level of a stop-gap veteran quarterback as Peyton Manning. If Flacco can just be a top-20 quarterback, this offense has potential. The wide receiver group is unproven but talented, and the Denver Broncos have arguably a top-5 running back duo in Philip Lindsay and Royce Freeman.
The schedule is going to be the issue here. The AFC West is tough, and the West’s crossover division, the NFC North, has three playoff-caliber teams.
Unless Flacco surprises me, I don’t see it with this team this year, but the future building blocks are in place.
The Denver Broncos will go 6-10 with these losses:
@ Green Bay, @ Los Angeles Chargers, @ Indianapolis, vs Cleveland, @ Buffalo, @ Houston, vs Los Angeles Chargers, @ Kansas City Chiefs, vs Detroit Lions, and vs Oakland Raiders.
