Denver Broncos struggling in final game at Oakland
By Tylor Walden
Broncos Country has been waiting all offseason to see the Denver Broncos back. It seems like they are still in offseason mode. This game is not good so far.
Just like it was in 2017 and in 2018, it is the same thing that have given the Denver Broncos so much trouble the last two seasons. Offensive line troubles, unable to cover a tight end, and penalties that are simply killing drives.
Through the first 30 minutes of the 2019 season, the Denver Broncos are looking like they have not woken up from the offseason slumber. And it truly looks as if unless something changes, this could be a very long season.
It was a nightmare seeing the defense allow the Oakland Raiders offense to drive down the field on the first drive and score a touchdown. But the fact that the offense went three and out right afterwards was really tough to watch.
Everyone believed that the Broncos defense was going to help this team out. But they have seemed to hurt more than help. One player in particular that has me seeing red in anger is Isaac Yiadom. There have been at least three plays were he got sorely beat in coverage.
And the offensive line has not looked great at all. The team currently has to deal without Ju’Wuan James, who left the game due to a knee injury. The only bright spot up to this point is Courtland Sutton.
He has made some solid plays. But sadly, the Denver Broncos have not been able to do anything with it. And the defense is getting gassed due to the offense not making enough plays. And it has lead to them getting shut out in the first half.
If the team is unable to get things going, this is going to be a long season for the Denver Broncos. The team does get the ball to start the second half. Here is to hoping.
