Execution and good play calling on offense

Last season, we saw plenty of poor play calling. There were times when plays left me scratching my head. For instance, why would they design a play for 3rd-and-12 that goes eight yards past the line of scrimmage? It made zero sense.

That is something that needs to change, and with the new coaching staff, I fully expect that to happen.

Denver has plenty of explosive players on the offensive side of the football. With running back Phillip Lindsay and wide receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Courtland Sutton, there is no reason why the Broncos cannot force their opponents into defending the speed that these players bring.

Sanders posted a message on Twitter on Monday afternoon and included a video of him running on the field inside the UC Health facility, and at the end, he says while looking into the camera: “I’m not done yet.”

He also posted the following message on Instagram:

It is clear that Sanders is motivated and ready to get back on the football field. Broncos Country is ready for it, too.

We have seen Sanders on the football field since he tore his Achilles last season, but that was not necessarily full-speed.

So, I ask this of Rich Scangarello, the Broncos’ offensive coordinator: Make smart decisions and please, please, please take advantage of the weapons at your disposal.
